Majella is a warm and compassionate Clinical Psychology Registrar who values creating a safe and supportive space for young people and their families. She recognises that therapy can feel daunting at first and brings empathy, genuine care, and a collaborative approach to help clients make meaningful changes. Majella’s work is grounded in evidence-based practice, and she has a particular interest in supporting neurodiverse young people in a neuro-affirming way, strengthening emotional regulation skills, early intervention, and family-centred care. She also enjoys assessing young people for the purposes of diagnosing ADHD, specific learning difficulties, intellectual disability, and giftedness to help them understand more about themselves. In her practice, she values cultural sensitivity and working closely with parents to strengthen parenting skills and family relationships.

Majella has worked across hospital, private practice, NDIS, and school settings. She recently worked at Sydney Children’s Hospital in the Consultation-Liaison Mental Health Team, providing psychological support to children and adolescents presenting with complex medical and psychological needs in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services.

Majella works therapeutically with young people presenting with:
• Anxiety including phobias, social anxiety, separation anxiety, generalised anxiety, and perfectionism
• Perfectionism and procrastination
• Exam stress and other academic concerns
• Depression and mood difficulties
• Sleep problems
• Emotional dysregulation
• Behavioural difficulties
• Social difficulties and friendship issues
• Communication and conflict issues within or outside of family
• Organisation and executive functioning issues
• Obsessive Compulsive behaviours
• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Autism (Levels 1 and 2) and associated challenges (anxiety, school and social difficulties, emotional regulation)
• School avoidance (or ‘refusal’)
• Grief and loss
• Safety planning and risk assessment

Majella provides comprehensive assessment (including psychometric assessment) for:
• ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
• Specific learning difficulties and disorders with impairment in reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), and maths (dyscalculia)
• Intellectual disability (including adaptive behaviour assessment)
• Intellectual giftedness

Tools used:
• Wechsler Tests: WISC-5, WAIS, WIAT, WPPSI
• Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS)
• Vineland Adaptive Behaviour Scales
• A range of questionnaires may also be used as part of the above comprehensive assessments

Majella also sees parents for a range of parenting issues:
• Assistance managing behavioural challenges of primary school-aged children
• Helping parents understand how to play and spend positive time with their child
• Dealing with teen issues including phone use, boundary setting, emotional connection, and communication
• Helping parents identify if their child needs further assessment or therapeutic input and clarifying what might be ‘typical’ behaviour vs less ‘typical’
• Supporting parenting skills to strengthen relationships and family wellbeing

• Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

• Experience in facilitating group programs including social skills and parenting groups
