For those with an eligible Mental health Treatment Plan (MHTP and sometimes referred to as a Mental Health Care Plan or MHCP), you will likely know that with this, you have access to 10 session rebates per calendar year. This resets as of the 1st January every year (it does not reset according to the date you received it, instead it is the same for everyone and resets at the start of a new calendar year). If you had used all of your session rebates for 2023 and would like to access further rebates in 2024, you might like to visit the GP to request a re-referral for up to 6 sessions (at a time). Remember that out of a child or adolescents 10 sessions, two of these are allowed to be used as parent sessions without the young person present.
