New Government Legislation Allows Normal Billing Practices for Telehealth Items

As of Monday last week, the government has allowed for Telehealth items to be able to be rebated for all with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) (including those in vulnerable groups and under 16s). This will allow for psychologists and other health professionals to continue to provide services to their clients without significant financial penalty, as well as allowing clients with an eligible MHCP to receive their Medicare rebate as normal. This is fairer for both the client and the health professional.

At the Young Mind Clinic we will now see a resumption of normal fees and billing practices.

More information can be found in the Fees & Rebates section. We look forward to be able to continue working with our clients whilst we are continuing to provide services in a virtual environment via the secure Telehealth platform Coviu. Whilst face to face sessions are not yet available, we will be sure to post further updates on the situation here in the future. We hope all of our community stays well.

If you would like to make an appointment with one of our psychologists, please contact us on the practice phone 0408 655 157 or at [email protected]
