The Young Mind Clinic
Delivering psychology services for children and teenagers in Greenwich.
Child Psychologist Greenwich
Being a young person navigating the world can be tough. For those facing social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, the journey may feel even more overwhelming.
At The Young Mind Clinic, we are committed to ensuring every child and teenager has the ability to access evidence-based therapy.
With years of experience and an understanding of young people, our psychologists are dedicated to providing excellent care. We aim to create a supportive treatment plan specifically for them.

Our Approach to Supporting You
We are dedicated to working exclusively with children, teenagers, and their families. Our psychologists assist young people in discovering their strengths and navigating challenges, while equipping parents and carers to foster supportive relationships beyond therapy.
We deliver therapy and comprehensive evaluations to address concerns that may affect children and teenagers up to 18 years old. These can include ADHD Assessment, Autism Assessment, and Psychometric Assessment.

Therapy and Treatment
Our approach focuses on evidence-based techniques designed to address the specific issues the young person is dealing with.
We utilise evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills (DBT Skills), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Strengths Based Approaches, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Our approach involves providing support in a calm and reassuring space to help you and your children feel at ease.

Assessments
Our services include assessments for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), specific learning disorders (SLD), giftedness, and intellectual disability (ID), along with identifying cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses to support educational planning.
We can assess whether various factors may be influencing the overall challenges the young person is experiencing. Every evaluation is detailed and includes screening for alternative explanations or issues.
Common Conditions We Help Address
Whether your child is experiencing common challenges faced by young people, more significant symptoms, or has an existing diagnosis, we can offer support. Our assistance includes, but is not limited to, the following difficulties:
- Anxiety, including phobias, social anxiety, separation anxiety, generalised anxiety, and perfectionism

Booking with us
You can see a psychologist without a referral, but to receive a Medicare rebate, you’ll need to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, specialist paediatrician, or psychiatrist.
You generally don’t need a referral to claim through private health insurance, but it’s important to check the specific requirements of your policy with your private health insurer.
You can book an appointment by calling the clinic on 02 9420 0896 or emailing admin@theyoungmindclinic.com.
What To Expect and How to Book
Booking an appointment does not require a referral, but if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate, you’ll need an eligible Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. Private health insurance rebates usually do not need a referral, though it’s important to confirm the specifics of your coverage with your insurer. For children younger than 16, we generally start with an initial consultation involving one or both guardians, ideally both if available. For separated families, separate appointments with each parent can be arranged.
This process aims to collect important background details, facilitate open discussion, and decide on the best course of action. For those aged 16 and older, the initial consultation involves both the young person and their parent/s, usually including time with the psychologist both together and individually.
We provide Telehealth options. If attending the clinic in person, please notify us of any mobility issues as there are stairs at the entrance.
